The Civil Engineering and Development
Department HKSAR has appointed MateriaLab Consultants Limited (MCL) to
undertake the Environmental Team services for the Project and implement the
EM&A works.
ii.
This Monthly EM&A report presents the
environmental monitoring and audit works for the period between 1 November and
30 November 2020. As informed by the Contractor, major activities in the
reporting month were:
Utility laying
Construction of road base and
road pavement
Landscape works – irrigation
systems, tree and shrub planting
Laying Cable and Construction
for Road Lighting
Breaches of the Action and Limit Levels
iii. Four Action Level exceedance for 24-hr TSP
were recorded in the reporting month. Three exceedance were recorded at KTD2c
on 11, 16 and 21 November 2020 and an exceedance was recorded at KER1 on 16
November 2020.
iv. One Limit Level exceedance for 24-hr TSP was
recorded in the reporting month. An exceedance was recorded at KTD2c on 5
November 2020.
v. No Action / Limit Level exceedance was
recorded for 24-hr TSP at KTD1 in the reporting month.
vi. No Action / Limit Level exceedance was
recorded for construction noise at KTD1, KTD2c and KER1 in the reporting month.
Complaint, Notification of Summons and Successful Prosecution
vii. No environmental complaint, notification of
summons and successful prosecution were received in the reporting month.
Reporting Changes
viii. There was no reporting change in the
reporting month.
Future Key Issues
ix. The key issues to be considered in the
coming reporting month include:
Potential environmental
impacts arising from the above construction activities are mainly associated
with construction dust, construction noise, water quality, waste management and
landscape and visual impacts.
